About
Fred and June Stensruds ae an upper-middle-class couple living in Edina, Minnesota, in the Country Club District in the winter of 1948. Together with their three children - Henry (7), Jack (5) and Susie (2.5) - they represent the ideal post-war American family: rooted in tradition, church-going and aspirational.
But beneath the polished veneer of their tidy home and stable routines lies an unraveling truth - Fred is having an affair with June's younger sister Beverly.
As a part of the Omega Cinema Props Summer Internship Program of 2025, our task is to translate this narrative conflict into the visual language of the Stensruds home starting with historical research and ending with visual execution.

Edina, Minnesota 1948
The Country Club District, a well-planned suburban residential development dating from 1922, is significant as one of Minnesota's first restricted, comprehensive residential planning efforts, which became the prototype for Edina's subsequent residential developments; as a large homogeneous neighborhood of "Ms tor ic revival architecture; and as the home of a large number of the Twin Cities' leaders in business, industry, communications, and civic affairs.
